Paul – Co-Owner & Director of Project Development

Paul Hamtil is the Co-Owner of Hamtil Construction. With over 25 years of remodeling experience, he focuses primarily on project development, sales, and estimating. Paul is a NARI Certified Remodeler (CR) and formerly served on the Board of Directors for NARI of Greater St. Louis. In 2018, he received the prestigious John Quaregna Achievement Award from NARI, which recognizes one top young professional within the remodeling industry annually. Additionally, he was named to Professional Remodeler’s “40 Under 40” class in 2014.

Outside of work, Paul enjoys outdoor activities such as running, biking, camping, and fly fishing. On weekends, he can often be found attending his sons’ soccer games or enjoying a St. Louis City SC game.

David – Co-Owner & Production Manager

David – Co-Owner & Production Manager

David Hamtil is the co-owner of Hamtil Construction and serves as the team’s Production Manager, where he leads the execution of all projects. A third-generation craftsman who began his career working alongside his father, David has been remodeling homes for over 31 years. He is an extensive source of knowledge for any questions that arise during the remodeling process.

David’s expertise has been featured in several local and national media outlets, including Fox News, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, ProSales, and Remodeling magazines.

Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. His personal interests include visiting the Lake of the Ozarks, watching movies, and listening to music.

Kerry – Lead Interior Designer

With over 20 years of experience, Kerry serves as the Lead Interior Designer on our team. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design and a Sustainable Environmental Design certificate of specialization. Since 2006, she has held the NCIDQ credential, the highest certification available for interior designers. Additionally, Kerry is LEED accredited, providing her with the expertise necessary to implement sustainable green building practices. She prides herself on delivering unique design solutions tailored to each client’s personal style to enhance their everyday lives.

Outside of her professional work, Kerry and her husband are outdoor enthusiasts with a goal of hiking every National Park in the country. She is also a devoted animal lover and has a rescue dog and a rescue cat.

Melissa – Administrative Assistant

Melissa – Office Administrator

Melissa serves as our Office Administrator and brings 27 years of customer service experience in the St. Louis area. She plays an essential role in maintaining the daily operations of our office. Clients may occasionally receive emails from her, which include invoices and other important documentation. Typically, Melissa is the first point of contact when calling our office.

Outside of work, Melissa dedicates time to social engagements with friends and family. Her interests include reading, swimming, and spending time with her cats and dogs. You might run into her at a country concert or a Cardinals game, (as she is a huge fan). Go Cards!

Aaron – Project Coordinator

Aaron – Project Coordinator & Remodeling Carpenter

Aaron serves as a Project Coordinator, primarily managing project scheduling while also contributing his expertise in carpentry. A graduate of South Tech, Aaron brings significant enthusiasm to the team and particularly enjoys the intricacies of trim carpentry. He is motivated by the rewarding process of seeing a project transition from the planning stages to final completion.

Outside of work, Aaron recently purchased his first home and is currently dedicated to remodeling it himself. In his free time, he also enjoys fishing and spending quality time with his friends and family.

Brent – Lead Remodeling Carpenter

Brent serves as one of our team’s lead remodeling carpenters, bringing over 29 years of experience that spans both new construction and remodeling. As a NARI Certified Lead Carpenter (CLC), he contributes his expertise to Hamtil Construction. Brent has spent most of his life living in and around the St. Louis area and is proud to be a second-generation Marine, with his son now serving as a third-generation Marine.

Recently, Brent and his family completed building their own home. In his free time, when he’s not adding final touches to the house, he enjoys activities like hunting, fishing, playing sports, and taking motorcycle rides through the countryside.

Kurt – Lead Remodeling Carpenter

Kurt is an experienced lead remodeling carpenter who has been serving the Saint Louis area since 1993, specializing in kitchen and bathroom renovations. Previously, during the 1980s, he worked as a carpenter in new home construction and received his foundational training through the Union carpentry program.

In his free time, Kurt enjoys spending time outdoors. He and his wife are avid hikers and walkers, and he also pursues fishing as a recreational activity.

Malcolm – Lead Remodeling Carpenter

Malcolm also serves as a lead remodeling carpenter and brings over 30 years of construction expertise from California. His background includes work on custom homes constructed from the ground up, as well as specialized remodels encompassing kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor environments. Additionally, Malcolm is a Desert Storm Veteran.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, he enjoys hiking with his wife and dog, traveling to Europe, and exploring the microbrewery offerings in the Saint Louis region. He is also passionate about cooking and grilling.

Zach – Apprentice

Zach is currently working as an apprentice. Before beginning this role, he developed significant skills in a woodworking shop, gaining hands-on experience that helped build his knowledge and confidence. In addition to his formal work experience, Zach learned a great deal about carpentry from his grandfather, who shared valuable techniques and insights.

When Zach isn’t working, he likes to unwind by fishing, playing video games, and golfing.

Jackson – Apprentice

Jackson is one of our apprentices. He brings a broad range of expertise to the team, with valuable experience in machining, carpentry, as well as finance and banking. His range of skills and prior work in these fields provide a solid foundation for his role as an apprentice.

In his spare time, Jackson enjoys coaching Lacrosse at a local high school. He is also passionate about spending time outdoors, whether it is exploring the woods, relaxing by a lakeside, or playing golf. Jackson finds fulfillment in connecting with nature and engaging in recreational activities.

Beckett – Apprentice

Introducing our apprentice, Beckett. He relocated from Maryland, where he completed his studies at a technical high school focused on carpentry.

In his leisure time, Beckett pursues weightlifting, engages in video gaming, and appreciates music.

Ted – Apprentice

Caleb “Ted” – Apprentice

Ted recently joined our team as an apprentice, coming to us from Texas. He has experience working in furniture and framing carpentry, a skill he developed while working alongside his father. This hands-on background has prepared Ted well for his role with us.

When Ted is not at work, he enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly hiking and camping. He values time with family and friends, and cherishes moments with his cat, Walker.

We also have an extended team of trade partners to help assist in completing our projects. They are mainly specialized subcontractors such as electricians, plumbers, flooring installers, painters, and others. We will introduce you to these team members when they are in your home.
